Walking at Shipley Country Park

With 20 miles of footpaths and bridleways to explore and enjoy, including the Nutbrook Trail that runs through the park, Shipley Country Park welcomes walkers.

Self-guided walks

The following free leaflets are available at the visitor centre:

  • a map of the park highlighting the footpaths and bridleways is attached to this page
  • a free Nutbrook Trail leaflet
  • a wide range of self-guided walks leaflets - some of which pass through the park

There are a range of walking groups in the local area. Some meet up at Shipley Country Park on a regular basis.

Please pick up a free events booklet at the park's visitor centre, or visit our activities and events page for further information.

Shipley Country Park is also involved with the organisation of Autumn Footprints - The Amber Valley and Erewash Walking Festival. A free programme is available from July to September each year.

Dog walking

Shipley Country Park is well known for being a dog-friendly site, and welcomes responsible owners and their dogs. Poop scoop bags are available from the visitor centre.

Walks with a difference

A one mile trim track is located near to the visitor centre and around Cinderhill.

There is an extensive network of wayfaring points around the park.

Shipley Country Park is popular for geocaching.
