Are you getting rid of your unwanted furniture? Is it in good condition? Could someone else reuse it?
If your answer is yes to all 3, then think about getting in touch with your local furniture reuse project:
Glossopdale Furniture Project covers the High Peak area
SALCARE Furniture Project covers Amber Valley and Erewash area
YMCA Happy Homes covers South Derbyshire
Find out more about each of the projects then give them a ring and let them breathe life into your old stuff!
Other charitable organisations happily receive items of reusable furniture, these include:
Ashgate Hospice Unit 9a Storforth Lane Trading Estate Hasland S41 0SP Tel: 01246 229536
British Heart Foundation Furniture and Electrical Store 47 - 51 High Street Alfreton DE55 7DR Tel: 0844 248 9167
Please contact these organisations to find out what items they accept.
If you think your unwanted furniture is not suitable for reuse, you can take it to any of our household waste recycling centres for disposal free of charge.
Or your local district council will provide a bulky household waste collection service and will collect old furniture from your property. They may make a charge for this.
