School life

There are lots of things you need to know when your child is at school - how will they get there, what are school meals like, what to do if your child is being bullied?

Here we give you the information about the day-to-day of going to school as well as information on governors, exams and work experience.

We also give you information on exclusion, penalty notices and truancy including your responsibilities and what the law says.

You may also like to look at our YOUTHINC website which has much more information about going to school and subjects including bullying and is aimed at 11-19-year-olds.

You may also like to look at our information on the school library service, the Derbyshire City and County Music Partnership, paid work for children and young people, term dates or home education.

Or find out more about gifted and talented children, childcare services including before and after school childcare, or more on school standards and the national curriculum.
