Status: Closed

Opens: 29 April 2024 - Closes: 24 June 2024

What this consultation is about

This survey has been put together to collect your views on the Active Travel Masterplans being drawn up for Glossop, Belper and Ilkeston. It must be noted that this survey is to gather an idea of current interest of the public and appetite for active travel; it is not intended that a decision about any changes will be made based on the results, but rather inform further considerations for planning.

We're committed to making travel more active, by including walking, wheeling, and cycling, more convenient and more appealing to a wider range of people. There is focus on 3 market towns of Glossop, Belper and Ilkeston initially. The benefits of introducing active travel will be reduced traffic congestion and emissions, improving air quality, along with physical and mental health improvements, as well as benefits to local businesses.

Our aim is to ensure walking, wheeling and cycling is made easier for a much wider range of people and journeys across Glossop, Belper and Ilkeston. It is acknowledged that a variety of needs and abilities need to be catered for therefore your views on the masterplans are important to us.

By completing this survey your interest and views will be logged and taken into consideration when drawing up the finished masterplans.

We'll use the completed masterplans as a tool to plan changes that can be considered in the future in terms of accessing more funding when necessary.

Results from this survey would help to inform how the next step in planning could proceed, and any future proposed changes would require a further formal consultation following successful funding.
