How to apply for work experience or placements

Before you complete our online application form, it’s important to make sure you have an understanding of how the council works and also to check if you fall into a category of work experience or placement that we offer.

If you're in the category where we can accept your application, here’s what you need to do now and the next steps:

1. Fill in our online application form. This will take around 10 minutes to complete, so please make sure you give yourself enough time before you begin
2. Once you’ve completed it, our team will pick up your application and we'll begin to see if we’re able to support your request
3. We’ll keep you up to date on progress and we'll be in touch if we need to ask you anything about your application or if we need to talk about available dates
4. We’ll let you know if we’re able to offer you a work experience placement or not. If we're able to support your request, we'll send you essential information to read or action before you start

Please remember, we will always do our best to support every application but, unfortunately, we're unable to accept all requests due to the large number we receive.
