Find out more about the history of Elvaston's castle and the historic core gardens together with the numerous landscape features and built structures found across the estate.
If you're looking for a more detailed history of the estate, the series of guides attached to this page provide a walk through time from the ninth century through to the 1970s. These were reproduced from a hard copy of Elvaston’s Guide Book, which was originally produced for the opening of the park in 1970. Unfortunately hard copies are no longer in print.
