We operate a payment scheme to landowners who are willing to carry out this work.
The scheme is conditional on the landowner complying with his or her statutory obligations, however, there are considerable benefits to the scheme, such as:
- open paths reduce trespassing
- we will make sure all waymarking, signposting and bridges are maintained in good order
- we will pay you to cut the vegetation on paths
- we offer a higher level of grant aid at the start of the scheme to assist with the opening of paths
- priority assistance with waymarking and signposting will be given
How the scheme works
We will survey all paths on your land on receipt of a plan illustrating the extent of your holdings.
The scheme applies to headland paths and enclosed tracks. By agreement it may also include cross-field paths which have become overgrown following initial reinstatement.
We require 2 cuts per year - usually in July and September.
Payment for the work will be made within 1 month of the receipt of your invoice.
Random surveys of all paths under your control will take place to ensure cross compliance. In return we'll fix any problems that are our responsibility within an agreed timescale.
If you're interested in joining the scheme either email eteprow@derbyshire.gov.uk or phone Call Derbyshire telephone: 01629 533190. Please mention the scheme and ask to speak to the area rights of way inspector.
