Using our Greenways you can leave the car at home, hop on your bike or on the bus and forget about parking.
Much of the route is easy access, so if you're pushing a pram, using a wheelchair or a mobility scooter you can enjoy exploring.
As multi-user routes, greenways are perfect for off-road horse riding too.
They're great for starting that new exercise routine, a daily walk, learning to ride a bike or building up your running distance. The perfect outdoor gym for free.
Explore links to Creswell Crags and into Nottinghamshire along the Archaeological Way at the eastern end of the greenway. From the western end you'll find links to Poolsbrook Country Park, the Trans Pennine Trail and Chesterfield Canal towpath.
What you might see
The Clowne Greenway is a reclaimed railway, travelling through cuttings (known locally as the canyons) which will excite geologists. The rock faces are home for many species of wild flowers, insects, mammals and birds.
Look to the skies and see if you can spot birds of prey searching for a tasty snack.
Welcome the snowdrops that are one of the first signs of spring and search for fungi in the autumn.
If you're an early bird, you might even catch a glimpse of roe deer grazing the trail edges.
How to find us
