"At this point we are standing on the Skegby Trail that takes us up from Skegby towards Pleasley. But going to the westerly direction there's a branch line that feeds into the Silverhill Colliery. So from this, the coals would be taken from Silverhill and bought back out onto the main line. The whole of the trail from this point forward as it goes up towards Pleasley is, in fact, a local nature reserve, and the track that goes off towards the left, the branch line, all one side of that is known as a Site of Special Scientific Interest. This is known local as Teversal Pastures and it's owned by the Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust and looked after very nicely by them. And if you go down there in the summer time you'll see a huge variety of different wild flowers in the meadows."
