Derbyshire Police Collection

The Derbyshire Police Collection was displayed in a working police station in Derby. The collection was transferred to us in November 2004 as a gift from Derbyshire Constabulary and is now held in our care.

Police badges

The Police Collection is not currently on display.

The collection includes a Derbyshire Police uniform, equipment dating from 1833 to the modern day, as well as crime related materials such as drug paraphernalia, counterfeit money and offensive weapons.

There's also a large collection of photographs with images from the 1890s to the modern day depicting police from across the county.

Though we hold many law-related and policing documents we do not hold the archive of personal policing records. If you're researching your family history you may find more information from the Derbyshire Record Office and Derbyshire Police.

For more information contact us, email: buxton.museum@derbyshire.gov.uk or telephone: 01629 533540.
