The main consultation documents comprise:
- a draft vision, objectives and strategic sustainability principles
- a draft strategy for each of the important minerals within the plan area to ensure their supply throughout the plan period to 2030
- a set of draft policies which will be used to assess and determine planning applications for mineral development
- the draft allocation (identification) of specific sites for working sand and gravel, industrial limestone and brick clay
Supporting consultation documents comprise:
- background papers – providing greater detail on the important minerals and other important topic areas
- site assessment - site assessment methodologies and site assessments for promoted sand and gravel and hard rock sites
- second interim sustainability appraisal
- duty to cooperate report
- report of publicity and consultation and report of representations
Consultation was for an 8-week period ending on Friday 18 May 2018. The consultation documents are attached to this page.
During the consultation period, the county and city councils held a series of drop-in sessions throughout the county. These provided the opportunity for people to discuss the plan with officers from the councils.
Comments made at the consultation stages inform the ongoing development of the Minerals Local Plan.
