Schools don't need to tell us if they're closed.
If a school has to close at short notice - like due to bad weather - it will contact parents and carers, often by text.
The headteacher decides whether to close the school. They'll consider things like keeping staff and pupils safe, if enough staff can get to work, and local road conditions.
You should check with your child's school to find out if it's open.
You can also get information from the school's own website or local news.
