Pay particulars

This section is for our employees. It provides essential information of a general nature on pay, tax and National Insurance. Members of the public must not rely on the information, as it may not apply to their circumstances.


Did you know that we pay some 35,000 employees and 25,000 pensioners.

Our aim is to make prompt and accurate payment, keep our standards high and provide a quality service.

If you have a query on your pay or pension payment, the first thing is to decide who to contact. It may not be the Shared Services Centre, for although we work closely with employing departments and the Inland Revenue, you may find that your query needs to be raised directly with them.

We have information on the payment of your expenses for travel or subsistence.

To help us deal promptly with your query, you should always quote your payroll reference number which can be found under your name on your pay slip.
