We are not responsible for activity on trunk roads and motorways; these are the responsibility of National Highways.
We are also not responsible for the roads within the city of Derby as these are either the responsibility of Derby City Council or National Highways
The suite of documents that relate to the duty plan has the following objectives:
- deliver against the government’s priorities for transport: “tackling congestion and disruption on the highway network enabling the expeditious movement of traffic, delivering accessibility; offering improved transport choices and reliable journey times; better air quality and improved alternative transport.”
- set out a long-term plan and a commitment to improve the management of roadworks and the efficient movement of traffic
- to build on and improve existing services and implement new actions to improve the reliability of journey times across Derbyshire and into neighbouring local authority road network as well as meeting our air quality and carbon objectives
