Oker - Will Shores Lane landslip

The road reopened to 2-way traffic in early December 2024 following the completion of extensive works to repair the landslip.

Background

Following wet weather in December 2020 the C319 Oker Road (from Darley Bridge to Oker village near Matlock) slipped in January 2021.

Technical ground investigations in July 2021 identified an earthworks solution to regrade the slope, with work starting in June 2024.

The repairs involved installing drainage to catch and redirect groundwater in the area to prevent future landslips.

Work was also be carried out to improve the support for the new road surface.

The repairs included resurfacing Oker Road following damage caused by the landslip.
