Brough access arrangements

The following is a list of access arrangements for Brough.

We apologise for any delays or inconvenience for local people.

Pedestrian and cycle access

Pedestrian and cycle access will be available from 4:30pm until 8am. This arrangement will be in place 7 days a week.

Access for the emergency services

We work closely with the emergency services and they are aware of the road closure and the diversion route.

Home visits for people requiring care

We understand that the repair works will affect journey times.

Organisations will need to allow additional time to travel to appointments. The road has to be closed as it is very narrow where the retaining wall has collapsed and there is insufficient space for vehicles to get past.

We have written to around 600 businesses across the Hope Valley to inform them about the repairs, including local care providers. We have also informed our social care team to make sure they allow extra time for journeys.

Delivery vehicles

Modern satellite navigation systems will automatically reroute to follow the diversion route. Diversion signs will also be in place to direct people.

Refuse collections

The local district councils have been informed and will amend their refuse / recycling collection routes.
