Derbyshire BikeSafe, delivered by Derbyshire police motorcyclists, helps fully licenced riders stay safe on the roads by helping them to further develop their skills. Topics covered include advanced positioning skills, bike control, hazard awareness, observation, cornering, braking, and overtaking.
Founded and based in the East Midlands, the Shiny Side Up Partnershipis made up of a group of expert professionals from road safety, collision investigation and police traffic management teams. The focus of their campaign is to reduce the number of fatal and serious casualties suffered by bikers, whether riding for leisure or on commuting journeys.
The National Young Rider Forum is a group of road safety professionals, interested specifically in young motorcyclists. This vulnerable group are aged between 16 and 24 years and are riding powered 2-wheelers of up to 125cc. The forum website has information on a broad range of subjects from the CBT test, other training, maintenance, security, and insurance. There's also the opportunity for riders to directly ask questions to NYRF experts.
