MOT tests in Derbyshire

For cars and vans over 3 years old, and minibuses over 1-year-old, it's essential to keep it safe and legal by getting it MOT tested every year.

Independent MOT vehicle testing of cars, light goods vehicles and minibuses of all fuel types is available at a number of centres in the county.

Car, van and minibus drivers can get MOT tests and minor repairs done at our Ambergate, Brimington and Dove Holes workshops.

Minor repairs can include replacement parts to suspension and brakes, light bulb replacement and headlamp adjustments, diagnostic testing, and servicing requirements.

The cost of MOT tests at our workshops are as follows with partial re-test fees set at £20 or free if in-line with DVSA regulations.

Class 4

£40: cars, passenger vehicles, motor caravans, private hire vehicles, motor tricycles, quadricycles, and dual-purpose vehicles in all cases with up to 8 passenger seats and goods vehicles not exceeding 3000kg DGW
£45: passenger vehicles, ambulances, motor caravans, and dual-purpose vehicles in all cases with 9 to 12 passenger seats

Class 4A

£64: this includes a seat belt installation check for passenger vehicles, motor caravans and dual-purpose vehicles in all cases with 9 to 12 passenger seats that are fitted with more seat belts than the minimum required

Class 5

£50: private passenger vehicles, ambulances, and motor caravans in all cases with between 13 and 16 passenger seats
£70: private passenger vehicles, ambulances, and motor caravans in all cases with more 16 passenger seats

Class 5A

£80: this includes a seat belt installation check for private passenger vehicles, ambulances, and motor caravans in all cases with between 13 and 16 passenger seats that are fitted with more seat belts than the minimum required
£124: this includes a seat belt installation check for private passenger vehicles, ambulances, and motor caravans in all cases with more than 16 passenger seats that are fitted with more seat belts than the minimum required

Class 7

£50: goods vehicles over 3000kg DGW up to and including 3500kg DGW
