Reporting abandoned vehicles

Abandoned vehicles can cause a public nuisance, are an eyesore and can be a danger to other road users.

You should report abandoned vehicles to the district or borough council that covers the area in which you found it.

The costs of removal, storage and final disposal are shared between the district or borough council and ourselves.

The vehicle will be removed if it is causing a public nuisance, is untaxed or if it has not been removed by the owner after a notice of removal has been placed on the vehicle.

The owner has a certain amount of time to remove the vehicle once the notice has been given.

Untaxed vehicles on the public highway can also be reported online.
