Recent changes to bus services

A summary of recent changes to bus services in Derbyshire, listed in date order, with the most recent first.

From Sunday 30 June 2024

High Peak:

  • new service 62: will operate daily between Buxton and Castleton via Chapel-en-le-Frith, Edale and Hope.

Hulleys

  • service 257: change to route and timetable on Sundays and Bank Holidays:- Buses will operate every hour from Sheffield to Castleton via A57 to Derwent, Bamford and Hope. Alternate buses will then continue to Glossop via Winnats Pass, Chapel-en-le-Frith, Whaley Bridge, New Mills and Hayfield. The buses which extend to Glossop will also serve Fairholmes Visitor Centre in both directions. This will also improve the frequency to every 2 hours. Buses will no longer serve the Snake Pass.

From Monday 17 June 2024 Road Closure of the B6049 at Brough

First South Yorkshire and Hulleys:

  • services 271/ 272: a temporary route and timetable will be in operation during the road closure. Journey times will be revised. 271/ 272 buses will not serve Bradwell during the closure. Shuttle buses are being arranged to connect Bradwell with Castleton. The services will revert to normal when the road is re-opened, planned for 13th September.

Hulleys:

  • service 173: a temporary route and timetable will be in operation during the road closure. Details of these alternative arrangements are currently being finalised. The service will revert to normal when the road is re-opened, planned for 13th September.
  • service 257: it will not be possible to serve Bradwell. Journeys will depart approximately 13 minutes later from Castleton and operate to the normal route and timetable from Bamford towards Bakewell. A shuttle service is being provided by Hulleys to provide connections to Bradwell. The service will revert to normal when the road is re-opened, planned for 13th September.

From Sunday 16 June 2024

First South Yorkshire:

  • service 80: revised timetable and route change in Killamarsh to better co-ordinate with service 120K, allowing through journeys to be made to Chesterfield.
  • service 120K: revised timetable to co-ordinate with service 80 allowing through journeys to Chesterfield and a Sunday service introduced.
