A summary of recent changes to bus services in Derbyshire, listed in date order, with the most recent first.

From Sunday 27 October 2024

Stagecoach Chesterfield:

  • services 1 and 1a: timetable and route revised. Service 1a renumbered 2. Chesterfield to Newbold section replaced by new service 10
  • service 5: timetable and route revised to run between Chesterfield and Newbold only. Chesterfield to Green Farm covered by new service 38
  • new daily service 10: replacing services 1 and 1a between Chesterfield and Newbold
  • new Monday to Saturday service 38: replacing service 5 between Chesterfield and Green Farm
  • service 39: timetable revised with frequency increased on Monday to Saturday daytime
  • services 43 43a and 44: minor timetable and route change. In Chesterfield inbound journeys will operate via Cavendish Street not Elder Way. Service 43a renumbered 42
  • service 54 and 54a: timetable revised with increased frequency. All journeys will operate via Alma Estate and all journeys numbered 54
  • service 65 and 65a: minor timetable change and stand change in Sheffield Interchange towards Meadowhall
  • new daily service X66: limited number of journeys to/from Chesterfield and Buxton
  • services 90 90a and 90b: timetable and route revised between Chesterfield and Yew Tree. Evening and Sunday journeys renumbered 91
  • new service 91: replacing service 90a evenings and Sundays between Chesterfield and Walton
  • Crich area services 140, 141, 142 142a 143 and 143a will have revised timetables and some route changes
  • services 157 and 159: minor timetable change on Monday to Friday
  • service X17: timetable and route revised with some journeys serving Hunloke Avenue in Walton and extra journeys via Matlock Farm Park. Also revised timetable and route between Sheffield and Meadowhall

Hulleys:

  • service 55: change to Monday to Saturday timetable and route extended to East Midlands Designer Outlet
  • service 110: minor early evening timetable change
  • service 257: revised Sunday timetable

TM Travel

  • service 218: frequency to Chatsworth House improved from every two hours to every hour on winter Sundays and later timed departures from Sheffield and Bakewell on Monday to Saturday evenings

Stagecoach

  • Blue and Red Peak Sightseer services: last day of operation for 2024 season

From Saturday 5 October 2024

Stagecoach:

  • The Blue and Red Peak Sightseer services will no longer operate on Monday to Friday after 4 October 2024, but will continue to operate on Saturdays and Sundays until the final day of operation, Saturday 26 October 2024 - the end of the 2024 season

From Monday 30 September 2024

Diamond Buses:

  • service 19: minor timing change to some afternoon journeys

From Monday 2 September 2024

Hulleys:

  • services 84, 170, 170A, 170C: all routes combined into one service 170 plus new Monday to Saturday service 6 replacing service 170 between Chesterfield and Wadshelf via Ashgate, Holme Hall and Old Brampton

South Pennine Community Transport:

  • new services 87 87A: Wednesdays only from Holmfirth to Castleton, and Castleton to Mam Tor
  • service 351: day of operation changed to Fridays with a revised timetable

From Sunday 1 September 2024

High Peak:

  • services 60 and 60A: revised timetable to improve reliability with adjusted running times
  • service 113: revised route will operate normal route to Turnditch and to B5023 junction but instead of continuing east on A517 to the Railway Inn (Cowers Lane) and Shottlegate, will divert right onto B5023 and continue south on B5023 Wirksworth Road, then turn left onto Nether Lane and Hob Hill (through Hazelwood) turn right onto Hazelwood Hill then normal route to Belper. Following stops no longer served: Railway Inn Cowers Lane, Overlane Shottlegate, Overlane Farm and St John Church Hazelwood. Morning journey retimed 5 minutes earlier to reflect change in school time
  • Transpeak: revised peak timetable between Derby and Matlock to improve reliability

Stagecoach Chesterfield:

  • service 49: varied for change to Bolsover school finish time

 

Stagecoach Manchester:

  • services 219, 237: resumption of normal service following summer reductions

Stagecoach East Midlands:

  • services 12 and 12B: service 522 school time variation withdrawn
  • service 231: additional afternoon journey in each direction
  • PRONTO: Nottingham to Mansfield section increased to every 10 minutes

First South Yorkshire:

  • Services 80 and 120K: minor timing changes for better co-ordination between the 2 services
  • service 272: some timings amended

D&G Buses:

  • service 108: revised timetable

Diamond Buses:

  • service 9: route amended between Swadlincote and Ashby adding Holywell Estate
  • service 19A: amended timetable for change in shift times at Mercia Park

Notts & Derby buses:

  • Unibus services U2 U2B: The U2B replaced with U2 due to parked vehicles along Markeaton Street

From Saturday 31 August 2024

Arriva:

  • services 1, 1A, 1B, 1C: route 1 withdrawn; 1A and 1C will run directly via London Road to and from the city centre plus changes to evening journeys to give better train connections. New service 1B to Boulton Moor and Buttercup Leys will run over Pride Park and along London Road to Blue Peter, continuing through Alvaston Village to Keldholm Lane then calling at Shardlow Road, Snellsmoor Lane, Lulworth Road, Mitford Road and Woodsford Drive
  • service 4: revised timetable with most Monday to Saturday journeys extended to Derby Commercial Park. Saturday frequency reduced to every 30 minutes
  • services 5, 5A, 5S: routes 5 and 5A will run Monday to Saturday only, hourly in each direction and will no longer serve Sunny Hill, operating direct via Stenson Road, from St Peter's Street Stop A1. Evening timetable revised to better suit shift times at Royal Derby Hospital. Passengers for Sunny Hill will be served by new route 6 on Monday to Saturday and new route 5S on Sunday
  • new service 6: Derby to Sunny Hill and Sinfin, replacing 5 and 5A through Sunny Hill giving a new link to Sinfin Asda from St Peter's Street Stop A1. Buses will run up to every 20 minutes on Monday to Friday, every 30 minutes on Saturday. Sunny Hill will be served by route 5S on Sunday
  • service 7: revised timetable with later evening buses. Together with new route 6, buses will run up to every 10 minutes between the city centre, Normanton Road and Sinfin.
  • service 8: Minor timetable changes in the afternoon peak
  • Wyvern: moved to Bay 11 at Derby Bus Station
  • service X38: Frequency increased to every 20 minutes Monday to Saturday, every 30 minutes on Sunday plus new evening journeys introduced on Monday to Saturday. It will also start from Derby Bus Station and continue to serve Victoria Street on journeys departing from the city

TrentBarton:

service X38: increased frequency to every 15 minutes on Monday to Saturday, every 30 minutes on Sunday. It will also start from Corporation Street in Derby instead of Victoria Street

From Tuesday 27 August 2024

Derbyshire Community Transport:

  • service 140 will be operated by Stagecoach to the same route and timetable except the 8.06pm from Matlock will be withdrawn
  • service 141 will be operated by Stagecoach to the same route and timetable
  • service 142 will be operated by Stagecoach to the same routes and timetable, except that there will be a new service 142A at 7.25am from Wessington to Crich via South Wingfield to provide connections to service 141 to Matlock
  • services 143 and 143A will be operated by Stagecoach with some route and timetable changes. All 143A services will operate to and from the A615 Nottingham Road via High Lane - Lea Moor Road to and from Crich

Stagecoach Chesterfield:

  • services 157 and 159: after 9.30am Monday to Friday and all day Saturday journeys will operate 5 minutes later in order to avoid congestion on stand 6 on Bakewell Road
