Community rail partnerships are a bridge between the railway and local communities.
They are about positive development, bringing together a wide range of interests along the rail corridor.
Partnerships have been instrumental in achieving spectacular increases in use of rail through innovative marketing, improved services and better station facilities.
Their work includes:
- improving train services
- improving transport links to stations
- improving stations
- bringing station buildings back to life, including art and other projects
- promoting rail services
There are 3 community rail partnerships in Derbyshire:
They concentrate on improving rail services and work to develop and promote a number of local rail services throughout the county.
We also regularly arrange for folk train events and guided walks in the High Peak and Hope Valley area.
