We care for clients 7 days a week providing assessments, therapeutic activities, social stimulation and exercises. The centre is also able to provide places for people with mental health problems, including clients under 60 years of age.
Our aims
- to enable informal carers (family or friends) to take a break from their caring role on a regular basis
- to offer a variety of day opportunities and a positive experience whilst away from home
- to help people maintain their present skills and level of independence for as long as possible
- improving function, safety and quality of life for our clients and their carers
- offering advice and support for our clients and their carers
Criteria
- the day service is available to Derbyshire residents over 60 years
- the person requiring a day service has been assessed and meets our eligibility criteria
- the person requiring day services is able and willing to attend the day centre in order to partake in purposeful activities to help maintain their wellbeing, independence and present skills and abilities
Administrative and domestic arrangements
Charging
- charges are either full or assisted cost and the precise amount will be explained during the person’s initial assessment
- the person can attend a full day session or a half day session depending on need and their preference
Meals
- the day centre provides a 2-course meal at lunch time, meals are freshly cooked on our premises and we promote a 'dining with dignity' approach
- the day centre also provides a more discreet dining experiences for those clients who need extra support at meal times, and our staff are fully aware of different dietary needs, for example, diabetic, soft food diets, gluten-free
Transport
- should a person be unable to get to the centre or have specific travelling needs these should be discussed at the person's initial assessment
- the day centre has transport available for the people who cannot find any other way of getting to the centre
