Joining the library online

You can join your library online or by contacting your local library.

Once you have joined you will receive an automated email with a temporary number, this can't be used to access our e-services but can be used in libraries. You will be sent your library card within 10 working days, you can use this to access our wide range of ebooks, e-audiobooks, e-magazines and e-newspapers.

If you have any questions or queries about the joining process please contact ask.library@derbyshire.gov.uk

Lost tickets

If you think you're already a library member but have lost your ticket, please contact your local library for a replacement.

Children

You're never too young to join the library.

Children under 13 years old

Parents or carers are able to register their children at any Derbyshire library. One form of identification or adult Derbyshire library card is all that they'll need.  They can also add their child's details online. The new library card will then arrive through the post.

Young people aged 13 and over

If you're aged 13 or over, you can join and use the library yourself. Just visit any Derbyshire library with one form of identification which can include your b_line card.

You can also enter your details online and your new library card will arrive through the post.
