The service is for anyone who finds it difficult to visit a library or mobile library, or carry their books home.
This could be due to:
- disability
- limited mobility
- illness
- caring responsibilities
How it works
When you apply for the service, we'll phone you to find out a bit about you, and to tell you more about how the service works. We'll also ask you about what what kind of things you'd like us to deliver. We'll then arrange a visit to follow this up in more detail.
One of our home library assistants will then arrange to visit you once every 4 weeks.
We deliver to people in their own home as well as those in care homes.
Benefits include:
- a selection of items tailored to you
- free requests
- no charges on overdue books
If you have any questions, email library.communityengagement@derbyshire.gov.uk or telephone: 01629 533444
