Summer Reading Challenge

The Summer Reading Challenge has returned to Derbyshire Libraries.

Cartoon girl with walking pole in one hand and an ipad in the otherYou can join at your local library. The challenge is to read 6 or more library books over the summer. You'll get 6 stickers if you finish the challenge and once you've collected them all you can get a medal and certificate!

This year, the Marvellous Makers, will fire up your imagination and unleash storytelling and creativity through the power of reading.

From dance to drawing, junk modelling to music, there’s something for everyone.

The Summer Reading Challenge runs from Saturday 6 July to Saturday 7 September.

We have a variety of fun activities in many of our libraries to inspire an interest in creativity and making. Please see our Facebook page or contact your local library for details.

This year’s theme has been developed in partnership with a leading arts charity, Create, and is open to children who visit libraries in the summer holidays.

The Summer Reading Challenge is presented by The Reading Agency and delivered in partnership with libraries. Illustrations are by Natelle Quek, and © The Reading Agency 2024.
