As part of our commitment to reading we develop and manage a range of promotions. Some of these are time limited and some become part of our core services.
We encourage people with mental health issues to visit our libraries, read books or join a reading/writing group.
Discover library health and wellbeing zones and pick up a mood-boosting book.
We also work in partnership with community groups, health agencies, charities and organisations to support reading for health and wellbeing.
Book awards are one way of highlighting the best writing in a particular year, or genre, triggering discussion and drawing attention to less well-known and new authors.
Look out for displays and activities in libraries promoting prize-winning books and awards.
If you are thinking about improving your reading or would like to increase your confidence then Reading Ahead (opens in a new window) might be just what you are looking for.
Get in touch with us if you would like to take part.
