Derbyshire Woodland Festival

Our popular Festival will be returning to Elvaston Castle on 21 and 22 September 2019 and is a celebration of traditional and contemporary woodland crafts.

The annual festival is set within the beautiful grounds of Elvaston Castle Country Park, which add to the unique feel of this special event. Visitors also have the opportunity to explore the woodland, formal gardens, lake and parkland that surround the castle.

This is a great day out for all the family with lots of fun activities for children, unique crafts and furniture to buy. Nationally recognised demonstrators will share their amazing skills, from sawmills and carving to wood turning, weaving, horse logging and many opportunities for you to have a go.

Visitor attractions will include the Vikings of Middle England camp, with crafts, re-enactments, combat and lots to entertain you. Arbor, the incredible 18 foot tall puppet of a tree - enjoy his show and walkabout performance, with some lucky visitors being given a tree sapling to take away. The Green Man is also not to be missed with popular songs and stories.

With beautiful shire horses, birds of prey, wild food and campfire cooking, plus the huge array of stalls and catering, there really is plenty to keep you entertained.

Special event parking charges apply all weekend:

  • £5 a motorcycle per day
