New measures, including a traffic control system based on odd and even number plates and limiting the number of vehicles on site at any one time, are in place at all of our sites so that users and staff can stick to social distancing rules to help prevent the spread of coronavirus.
Before you visit
Find out everything you need to know including when you can visit, what's accepted, important safety information on our recycling centre page.
Only one person is allowed in each car. You should:
Check the waiting times for our recycling centres
- check which days you will be allowed in - this depends on your car number plate
- be prepared to queue as we're following social distancing rules
- wear protective gloves, appropriate footwear and clothing
- stay at home if you have coronavirus symptoms
Composting is a great way to turn your garden waste and kitchen scraps into a useful compost instead of taking it to our sites. We have advice on our website to make the most of the food you have and there is further information on Love Food Hate Waste.
Traffic diversions at Waterswallows
Diversions are in place to direct traffic wishing to use the recycling centre at Waterswallows Lane.
There is currently no right turn from Waterswallows Road to access the recycling centre.
The junction needs to be kept clear for neighbouring businesses on the industrial estate and for refuse trucks.
All cars visiting the recycling centre should approach from the direction of the A6 intersection at Fairfield and will be held in the queue at the junction with the site entrance on Waterswallows Road.
A map detailing the diversion is attached to this page.
- open 8:30am to 6pm daily
- closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day
