Answer one quick question about the future of local councils in Derbyshire - tell us what you think.

Million Trees

Our ambition is to support the planting of up to a million trees across Derbyshire by 2030 as part of our commitment to tackling climate change.

Visit our Million Trees website

We're already over halfway towards reaching our target – which is great news. But to achieve our aim of planting a million trees by 2030, we are looking for support across the county. This will be in the form of:

  • landowners - you could be a landowner looking for support and guidance on how to plant trees on your land
  • businesses and partnerships - we are looking for businesses who would like to sponsor tree planting projects either by contributing trees or volunteering to plant trees in Derbyshire

If you would like more information on how you can get involved, please contact us by email: milliontrees@derbyshire.gov.uk

If you're a landowner with space available for tree planting in the south and east of the county, you may be interested in grants available for planting schemes as part of Derbyshire's Heartwood Community Forest.

Free tree scheme for Derbyshire schools

We offered a free tree to all Derbyshire primary and secondary schools as part of the Million Trees campaign and we had 133 requests to be involved. They have now been delivered.

This scheme was kindly sponsored by Vertas Derbyshire Limited, our cleaning and landscape maintenance contractor, to cover the cost of the trees.
