School admission arrangements 2019 to 2020

The admission arrangements for maintained schools in Derbyshire have been determined for the 2019/2020 school year.

Admission arrangements for community and voluntary controlled schools 2019/2020

There are no changes to the general admission arrangements for community and controlled schools in Derbyshire other than:

  • changes to key dates in the admissions process for 2019/2020 which are set out in the coordinated scheme
  • changes to a number of published admission numbers

Changes to published admission numbers

There are changes to the school Published Admission Numbers (PANs) listed. In line with recommendations from the Office of the Schools Adjudicator and following consultation there are also revised sixth form PANs for community and controlled schools.

  • Kilburn Junior School - reduce from 60 to 50
  • Osmaston CE Primary School - increase from 15 to 18
  • Woodville Junior School - increase from 72 to 85
  • Riddings Junior School - increase from 50 to 60
  • Wilsthorpe Community School − increase from 180 to 210
  • Cavendish Junior School - increase from 30 to 34
  • Cromford Primary School − reduce 20 to 12

All other PANs remain as published in the 2018/2019 arrangements.

All of these changes are in line with revised net capacity assessments.

Changes to Normal Area

A small area of a housing development is to be included in the normal area of Christ Church CE Primary (Controlled) having previously been in the normal area of Abercrombie Community Primary School to avoid the development being split.

The area covered by phase 1 of a housing development at Radbourne Lane, Mackworth is to be made into a shared normal area between Kirk Langley CE (VC) Primary School and Long Lane CE Controlled Primary.

In other respects the admission arrangements for community and controlled schools are unchanged from those published for 2018/2019. Coordinated admission arrangements.

There are no significant changes to the coordinated admissions scheme other than to bring forward relevant dates into the 2019/2020 admission rounds. The coordinated admissions scheme is attached to this page.

Fair access protocol

There are no changes to the fair access protocols which reflect the most recent Department for Education (DfE) advice and other national and local changes such as:
