An inclusive experience
We’re committed to ensuring that everyone is able to access our activities, regardless of special educational needs or disability.
We pride ourselves on having experienced, caring, and compassionate staff who go out of their way to ensure an inclusive experience for everyone in the group.
We have many ways in which we can physically adapt sessions, and we also have many prompts and communication aids to help independence around the centre.
Alternative provision
We place the wellbeing and development of young people at the forefront of everything we do.
Our Alternative Provision programmes offer a unique approach to education, focusing on holistic development in an outdoor setting.
These have been shown to improve behaviour, confidence, resilience, school attendance, social skills, and interactions among young people.
We offer a supportive environment for young people who struggle in mainstream education due to various factors, and aim to build strong and positive relationships between young people and adults.
Activities
We have a wide range of exciting activities, tailored specifically to the needs of your group.
We focus on real activities, at famous Peak District venues, such as rock scrambling and climbing at the Roaches, abseiling, from Miller's Dale viaduct, canoeing at Combs reservoir, caving in Giants Hole, stream scrambling in the Goyt Valley, and adventure days all around the stunning Derbyshire countryside.
In addition, there are many more activities available onsite, such as bushcraft, zip-lining, low ropes courses, an indoor climbing wall, leap of faith, crate stack, and a mile-long mountain biking track.
Accommodation
We have 93 beds, including accessible bedrooms, for use by residential activity groups or self-catered, self-hire groups.
We also have a campsite which is ideal for Duke of Edinburgh, Cadet, or Scout groups, overflow accommodation for residentials, or just a cheap, fun, and more adventurous alternative to staying in the house.
