Derbyshire Skills Festival

The Skills Festival is the largest careers information and guidance event for young people in Derbyshire.

Derbyshire Skills Festival 2016This free event is aimed at students aged 15 to 19 and particularly useful for those in Year 11 who are considering their options post 16.

We organise the festival in partnership with Derby City Council and this year it's being held at:

  • Pride Park Stadium, Pride Park, Derby, DE24 8XL on Wednesday 19 and Thursday 20 September
  • Proact Stadium, Sheffield Road, Chesterfield, S41 8NZ on Wednesday 26 September

The events will open from 3pm to 8pm.

Derbyshire Skills Festival is an opportunity for young people leaving school or college or looking for a job with training to talk to the professionals and get all the information and guidance they need under one roof.

Visitors will also be able to take part in have-a-go sessions to test their skills and give them an idea what different careers might be like.

There will also be sessions for young people with special educational needs and disabilities and young people who are not in education, employment or training (NEET) and other vulnerable groups.

Exhibitors to be confirmed.

Organisations interested in having a stand at one or more of the venues should contact our Skills Festival team for more information by emailing Skills.Festival@derbyshire.gov.uk or by calling 01629 536545.
