Adult education partnership working

We work in partnership with local charities, voluntary organisations and other county council services to provide learning to Derbyshire residents.

Jeremy with pumpkinWe aim to widen participation and transform people’s destinies by working together to provide learning tailored to different groups of people.

Working in partnership means we can work with organisations that really know their community and we can provide the education to support people to develop:

  • resilience
  • confidence
  • improved mental wellbeing
  • improved physical wellbeing

Partnerships help us to promote inclusivity and accessibility. Working with partner organisations means we can add value through using skilled expertise to build on what organisations are already doing. It means we can work with people that might not think learning is for them. This promotes social equity and creates a vibrant way of learning.

At the heart of our partnership working lies a commitment to address diverse educational needs and create lifelong learning opportunities. By sharing resources, expertise, and networks, we can create learning opportunities tailored to the unique requirements of adult learners. Whether it's:

  • upskilling for a new career
  • getting basic skills
  • help with personal development
  • working with parents or carers to help their children’s learning

In the past we have worked with:

  • schools
  • mental health support teams
  • organisations that work with people with learning disabilities

If you work with groups of adults that you think would benefit from learning with us, please email cstailored.learning@derbyshire.gov.uk
