Our Director of Public Health produces a report each year.
This year the online report, published this month, covers a variety of work based topics including the value of a healthy workplace, apprenticeships and the impacts of long term unemployment.
Our Cabinet Member for Health and Communities Councillor Carol Hart said:
“This year’s report clearly outlines the importance that employment plays in people’s overall health and wellbeing.
“Research shows that work is generally good for people’s health and ensuring that as many people as possible in Derbyshire are in employment will bring significant public health benefits.
"The report is available to download from our website and we would encourage people to take a look."
We work with businesses across the county to provide health and wellbeing support through the Healthy Workplaces team.
They offer in-house support on a range of health topics including stop smoking, weight management, emotional health and wellbeing and more.
Local businesses will also receive a desk calendar that summarises the annual report’s key findings.
It contains advice and information about the health and wellbeing support available to businesses and their employees.
