Have your say as 'Your Council Your Voice' survey is back

Published: 27 July 2023

Residents are being given the chance to have their say about our services and let us know how satisfied they are with how we’re running the council and the decisions we’re taking.

The Your Council Your Voice 2023 short summer survey has now been launched and runs for 3 weeks, closing at midnight on Wednesday 16 August.

On completion residents can enter a prize draw with the chance of winning a £100 gift card.

The short summer survey has only 7 main questions and takes approximately 5 minutes to complete.

Questions include asking people if we provide value for money, how well we inform local residents and to what extent people trust us.

The latest survey is in addition to the more wide-ranging main Your Council Your Voice (YCYV) survey that we run every year in the late autumn.

Derbyshire County Council Leader Councillor Barry Lewis launched the new survey and encouraged people to take part and give their views which will be used to continue to shape how the council is run, with results being compared to those received in the previous YCYV survey.

Councillor Lewis said:

“Our aim continues to be to offer high quality services to benefit those people who need them, while continuing to push forward with ambitious plans that will support households and businesses now and in the future.

“Times continue to be challenging for us all, which makes it more important than ever that we hear from our residents, see if anything has changed since last year and use what we’re told to shape the council and the services we provide that so many rely on. We will closely look at areas identified in the survey where we need to make more progress and will listen to what people are telling us.

“I’d encourage Derbyshire residents to take five minutes out of their day to fill in the survey.”

Once the YCYV survey results have been gathered and analysed, a report with the findings will be considered by our Cabinet later this year.

A paper copy of the survey can be requested if needed, by ringing Call Derbyshire on 01629 533190. People can also email: haveyoursay@derbyshire.gov.uk to request the survey in other formats.
