What this consultation is about
Section 18 of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act (2004) (as amended) requires that we prepare a Statement of Community Involvement (SCI).
The previously adopted Statement of Community Involvement (2006) has been revised and updated to reflect statutory requirements and best practice.
The draft updated and revised Statement of Community Involvement sets out how we will involve the community in the planning process. It describes the means by which we will actively and continuously engage local communities, individuals and stakeholders in the following areas of work:
- the preparation of documents to be included in the Derbyshire and Derby minerals and waste local plans
- the determination of planning applications for minerals and waste developments and also for those relating to its own development, such as schools and roads
- monitoring and enforcement of minerals and waste development
- strategic planning
