What this consultation is about
We're consulting on proposals to make changes to the Older People’s Independent Living Service. In the past you may have known this as the Warden Service or Housing Related Support, but the name of the service changed to the Older People’s Independent Living Service in 2019.
We are consulting on proposals to end the current Older People’s Independent Living Service. If these proposals are approved by Cabinet, it will enable us to reinvest in a new, targeted offer of short-term support to help people to continue to live safely and independently in their own home.
The new offer would be available to a greater number of adults that live in different kinds of housing including social housing, rented accommodation and privately owned.
If the proposals to stop providing the current service are approved by Cabinet, we would like to know what this might mean for you. This will help us to understand the impact on you as a person and will inform our plans for any new service provision. More information can be found in the Cabinet Report on the Council’s Democracy website.
