Developer Contributions Protocol update 2025

Status: Open

Opens: 13 January 2025 - Closes: 24 February 2025

What this consultation is about

We are responsible for the delivery and operation of much of the large scale infrastructure required to support development such as highways, schools, libraries and waste.

We work closely with local planning authorities to identify the impact of proposed development and ensure the infrastructure requirements needed to support development are identified through the planning process.

Where appropriate we will seek developer contributions to mitigate the impact of new development.

We seek to ensure the Developer Contributions Protocol is up to date and resolved to review the document every 3 years in order to ensure the anticipated growth and development within the county is supported by the services and infrastructure necessary to mitigate its impact.

The subject areas covered by the Developer Contributions Protocol are:

  • highways and transport
  • education
  • public health and adult social care
  • waste services
  • library services
  • broadband
  • employment and skills
  • biodiversity net gain

You are invited to comment on the draft document which is attached to this page.
