Status: Results available

Opens: 1 January 2018 - Closes: 11 February 2018

What this consultation is about

We asked for your views on the proposed closure of the Derbyshire and Derby City Schools Library Service (SLS).

The service has been jointly provided by us and Derby City Council, to provide support and resources to schools and educational establishments, with the main resource being artefacts, as well as books, paintings, prints, posters, DVDs, CDs, textiles and resource packs.

Use of the SLS has been declining affecting the service's ability to generate income.

A report was presented to Cabinet, 17 May 2018, agenda item 4, proposing that the service be closed on 31 July 2018 and be decommissioned by 31 March 2019.
