Aiming High short break consultation

Status: Results available

Opens: 8 October 2014 - Closes: 15 December 2014

The Derbyshire Challenge

What this consultation is about

We're facing budget pressures like never before and need to save £157m by 2018. Reductions in Government grants, inflation and greater demands on areas of our budget for adult social care and vulnerable children mean we must rethink the way we deliver services. It means some services will remain, some will be run differently but some will have to stop.

We don’t want to cut any services but we have no choice.

We wanted to hear your views on the Aiming High short break scheme.

Under the scheme, flexible one-to-one support will be available to enable disabled children to have short breaks, based on an assessment of the family's needs.

The consultation is now closed.

A decision about what will be offered in the future is expected later this year. In the meantime, the current scheme will continue between 1 April 2015 and 31 March 2016.

Further details are available in the 'Aiming High 2015-16 update' attached to this page.
