Snow warden scheme privacy notice

We are committed to protecting your personal data and ensuring that it is processed fairly and lawfully. Information you provide to us will be processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation, the Data Protection Act 2018 and any subsequent legislation.


The data that we process may be your name, postal address, email and telephone number or in certain circumstances we may be required to process more sensitive information, known as special category data.

Purpose of processing

The information provided will only be processed for the purpose of dealing with your duties as a snow warden or volunteer including training, provision of equipment or supplies, to provide and request feedback, to obtain required documentation or further information as required.

It will not be processed for any other purpose. Your personal data will be processed only with your consent and you can withdraw consent at any time by contacting the departmental performance officer.

Who receives the information

This information will be shared with our officers for the purpose of running the volunteer snow warden scheme. It will be necessary for volunteers contact details to be shared with the contactors supplying grit for the purpose of organising and receiving deliveries. It will not be shared with any other third parties unless required by law. The information provided will not be used for marketing purposes or to take any automated decisions.

How long we keep the information

The information provided will be kept in accordance with our retention policy.
