To qualify, clubs must be open to any resident of the area who is of pensionable age or disabled.
Our contribution can be used for expenditure on rent and rates, heating and lighting, cleaning and caretaking, renewal of equipment and transport to and from club meetings. It can’t be used for club outings.
If your club receives grant aid from us, you must allow our staff to visit and inspect the premises when the club is open.
Clubs are invited to apply for a grant each year - an application form will be sent direct to the club secretary
You will need to send a copy of the club’s most recent annual accounts to us along with the completed application form.
The amount we award is based on the expenditure the club incurred during the previous financial year. Our contribution should not normally exceed 50% of approved expenditure. The maximum amount of the grant is dependent on how often the club is open.
The maximum amounts payable during the current financial year are:
- Clubs open full time £369
- Clubs open 3 days per week £219
- Clubs open less than 3 days per week £110
Your club will be expected to agree to the standard conditions for all organisations who receive financial assistance from the adult care department.

Funding from district and borough councils
Further funding may be available from your local district or borough council.
For example North East Derbyshire District Council (NEDDC) match fund our luncheon club funding. This means that if we award a club a grant for £110, NEDDC will match this and award the club the same amount.
We will be able to advise if you are in a match funding area when your application is approved.
