Additional smoke-free public spaces

Status: Results available

Opens: 3 June 2019 - Closes: 29 July 2019

What this consultation is about

The dangers of breathing in second hand smoke are well known. It’s what led to a change in the law in 2007 that banned smoking in indoor public spaces.

This is why we consulted the public on reducing this risk to people’s health by creating more smoke-free outdoor public spaces. We'd do this by working in partnership with other organisations, such as district and borough councils. Second hand smoking is a health risk to everybody, but particularly children, therefore there is a focus on public spaces where children are likely to be.
