Three weeks left for exhibitors to sign up for county's largest careers event
Employers, colleges, training providers and voluntary organisations are being reminded they only have three weeks left to book their place at this year's Derbyshire Skills Festival.
The deadline for bookings is Friday 4 August 2017.
We're organising the event with Derby City Council which is aimed at students aged 15 to 19, including those in Year 11 who are considering their options after school.
Derbyshire Skills Festival is the largest careers event for young people in Derbyshire and this year it is being held on:
Thursday 14 September 2017 at
Queen's Park Sports Centre
Wednesday 20 and Thursday 21 September 2017 at
The events will open between 3.30pm and 8pm.
There will also be sessions for young people with special educational needs and disabilities and young people who are not in education, employment or training (NEET) will also be invited.
Our Cabinet Member for Young People, Councillor Alex Dale said:
"With this year's Skills Festival fast approaching we're reminding exhibitors to book their place as soon as possible.
"Each year the festival attracts more than 11,000 visitors and is a great opportunity for organisations to recruit young talent and showcase what they have to offer."
The festival is an opportunity for young people leaving school or college or looking for a job with training to talk to the experts and get all the information and guidance they need under one roof.
Visitors to the event will also be able to take part in have-a-go sessions to test their skills and give them an idea what different careers might be like.
Organisations interested in having a stand at one or more of the venues should contact us by email: firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling tel: 01629 536545.
