Shipley Country Park recognised
Shipley Country Park has successfully retained its accreditation by Natural England which recognises it as a place that delivers facilities expected of country parks.
The visitor attraction, between Heanor and Ilkeston, first received the accreditation in 2011 which ran for three years.
It recently reapplied and passed all 39 points it was judged against, including easy-to-follow paths, bridleways and cycle paths, good access to toilets and information for visitors.
Councillor Andy Botham, our Deputy Cabinet Member for Jobs, Economy and Transport said:
"We are delighted to be accredited by Natural England again and hope it encourages more people to visit and enjoy everything Shipley Country Park offers.
"Shipley Country Park regularly offers events and activities and is a perfect place for all of the family to visit."
Visitors can enjoy walking, cycling, horse-riding, bird-watching, angling, kite flying, jogging, photography, and much more.
There is also a visitor centre on site which offers a café, a range of leaflets and guides as well as a children's and adventure play area.
