Partners sought for Elvaston estate

18 February 2014

Businesses and organisations interested in helping us find new uses for some of the buildings on the Elvaston estate are invited to come and find out more on Tuesday 4 March.

A supplier day is being held at Elvaston Castle to give businesses and organisations an opportunity to find out more about what is on offer.  Tours of the site will be also available.

The buildings that we're looking for businesses and organisations to possibly take on include:

  • The first and second floors of Elvaston Castle
  • The Upper Stableyard
  • The Bottom Stableyard, Gardeners Cottage and former Museum Buildings
  • The former Museum Shop and tractor shed
  • The Gas House
  • The Kennels
  • Nursery Garden/Gardeners Bothy
  • Home Farm

Our Cabinet Member for Council Services, Councillor Brian Ridgway, said:

"Finding new uses for many of the buildings and spaces not needed for the running of the estate is one of the keys to finding a sustainable future for the estate.

"And this is why we are organising this event so that any organisation, businesses, public sector organisations, voluntary groups or social enterprises can come and find out more about what we have available for development.

"I'm sure that we'll have some wonderful ideas come forward - which will really help us plan the future of the whole estate."

Places must be booked in advance by emailing alan.clifton@derbyshire.gov.uk by Thursday 27 February.
